- A beginning teacher teaches students with respect for their individual and cultural characteristics.
A. Make connections with local culture(s) and with the individual and cultural characteristics of the students to promote learning.
B. Use resources and information about the community and Alaska in planning and delivery of instruction.
C. Recognize and minimize bias in instructional materials and practice.
D. Use culturally appropriate communication and instructional strategies, ways of knowing, and knowledge of the Alaska Cultural Standards (see 4 AAC 04.180) in practice.
E. Identify and use instructional strategies and resources that are appropriate to the individual and special needs of students.
